Down but not Out…………And the Reds Go marching On!!!

Here are some facts:
October 20th 1996 (96-97 season) Newcastle defeated Manchester United 5 – 0
October 26th 1996 (96-97 season) Southampton defeated Manchester United 6 – 3
January 1st 1996 (95-96 season) Tottenham Hotspurs defeated Manchester United 4 –1
October 3rd 1999 (99-00 season) Chelsea defeated Manchester United 5- 0
Some people say that history repeats itself and so
October 23rd 2011 (11-12 season) Manchester City defeated Manchester United 6-1

But if history is really that canny to repeat itself I will take it because can anyone make any guess what happened in the above mentioned years…. 95-96 / 96-97 / 99-00 all ended with one result the Crowing of MANCHESTER UNITED as CHAMPIONS of the Premier League.

Disclaimer: These statistics above are only for fools and apparently some Pundits who believe that the loss in one match means as they call it a “Transfer in Power” from the Red to the Blue.

But I would like to interpret the above facts as follows that whenever the Red Devils have had a loss by a big margin they have woken up realized that their comfort zone is being encroached upon and respond with the might of real champions.

First up I accept that the Red Devils played bad they had a bad day at work. But that’s it, it was a day when they got it all wrong… We accept the point and move on, not dwell on it, I could write an essay on how our back 4 crumbled how we were feeble in midfield how some defenders lost their cool and got themselves sent off. But there is already a lot been said about that and so I won’t.

I am sure Man United and the gaffer Sir Alex Fergusson will have learnt their lesson. Sir Alex is not a man to forget the shortcomings of his team so easily. And I will bet money that they will hear a few harsh words from him about this. But what really amazes me is that a normal person thinks that with one defeat a team that has a history of winning the league the most number of times are done ….. It makes me laugh that people want to write off the most experienced manager who has for the last 25 years been at the helm of one of the most successful clubs in the world. He has already rebuilt this team 5 times and though I don’t think we are in any urgent need of rebuilding I am sure he can do it a sixth time.

What I really fail to see is why people don’t like their own clubs rather than hate Man united. I think it has to do with the fact that we are by far the best club in England today and so all of ‘em hate us because they can’t be us. But that’s just the petty minded individuals. I feel sad for them. I like Man United but that doesn’t mean I hate Chelsea or Arsenal…. You don’t need to hate a club to show how much you love the Club you support.

As far as a transfer of Power is concerned there is no such concept. And if there was it did not start this week or this month it started 2 years ago when a wealthy sheik started throwing unimaginable sums of money into the club. And what do they get in return a person who doesn’t want to play for the club….but that’s a different story all together I shall keep that for later

Only a word of caution to all those people who think that Man united have lost their powers feel free to say so… but write us off only at your own peril.
We shall keep coming back
Glory Glory Man United!!!!!
A Proud Red Devil
